Debarkation day. We had to be out of our room by 8:30am, however our breakfast time was 7:15, so we vacated our cabin early. One last breakfast on board, this time in Tritons with our usual waiters. We then made our way to a few lounges only to find them all full. We finally found empty seats in front of the Walt Disney Theater, so we crashed there until we heard the call for purple Minnie.
We exited and followed the line again out to the taxis. All I can say is this: if you can fit all of your people and luggage into a Prius taxi: do it. The line for the mini-van taxis was horrendous and there is no where for people with mobility issues to sit. We waited about 45 minutes and we were towards the beginning of the line. The line was absolutely awful behind us. Since we had so much luggage, we opted for the mini-van line. We took the taxi to the airport, made it through security, Canadian customs, and US customs, and flew home.
Unfortunately, several days later, we came down with a type of flu. I have absolutely no doubt that we caught it from the cast member who was manning the computer area. I tried to avoid her, but I had to get our airline boarding passes printouts from her. She was in the early stages of being sick...she looked miserable, eyes were glossy, she was sniffing a ton, coughing, and looked like she felt miserable. So, ya, thanks to her for getting us sick. I wish cast members as sick as she was were kept away from the guests. The flu was not a souvenir I particularly wanted from this trip.
Aside from that, it was an awesome, awesome trip. And it was entirely too short! I'm already scheming on another Alaskan cruise in the not too distant future!
